I grew up in a Baptist family. Going to church on Sundays was a routine of my childhood. I stopped attending meetings, however, during high school and college years due to various distractions. I went to a graduate school in 1988. In the meantime I started to ask the question about the meaning of human life and examined many reasons for my existence. Through another student on campus I came in contact with the local church in 1989. Though I was initially critical about the noticeable differences in the appearance of “meeting format” between the Baptist and the local churches, I was instantly and deeply attracted by the rich truth shared in the meetings, the genuine fellowship among the believers, and how serious they were in pursuing and loving Christ. There seemed to be an inner assurance in me.
