I lived in Nebraska for 20 years. Throughout that time I thought that being good and having a comfortable living was all I needed. I believed in God but I was not yet saved. When I had time I would meet at different places with people who believed, but I never found any enjoyment or satisfaction whatsoever.
In 1995, being unsatisfied with life, I figured I should move since the opportunity had come up. In October 1995, I drove into New Mexico in hopes of finding something to satisfy this desire in me. After 2 years of looking I found nothing but a credit card debt. Believing there was a God I said: “there must be more to life.” I am not sure when I actually said this.
But God had listened to me. By His mercy He sent a man to my job who loved the Lord Jesus. He spoke things from the Bible that I had never heard before. Things such as the Lord Jesus Christ wants us to spiritually eat Him (John 6:57), spiritually breathe Him (John 20:22), and live by Him. The Lord had also, by His mercy, put the ministry of Witness Lee on the radio. For 30 minutes of the day we would listen at work. Never before did I know that there was so much more to life then being good. Praise the Lord for having opened up His plan for man to me. I began meeting with the local church. Here I’ve found real satisfaction in the One (Jesus) who satisfies.
