A Truth Seeking Sinner Finds God
I love the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my life supply, my daily bread, and everything I need! I’ve always been a seeker of the truth. All I’ve ever really wanted was to know the truth—the absolute truth in the universe. I grew up in a Christian family with all the fundamental and correct teachings and practices, but eventually I became dissatisfied, these teachings were just not my reality and I had no way to apply them. I began to get very introspective and philosophical about life and for all intents and purposes became in many regards a nihilist/existentialist. I didn’t truly believe in anything. I could never say that God didn’t exist, but neither He nor anything else was my reality.
Eventually through many hundreds, maybe thousands, of appearings I started to realize who God was and that He had a plan and a goal for my life and ultimately for the whole universe. By His grace and mercy, He slowly drew me back to Himself and to His church. Praise the Lord! He’s living! And He reveals Himself to all those who seek Him and even to some who don’t!
But I have to mention that a major proponent of my going on with the Lord has been the written works of both Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. I just cannot express the deep appreciation I have for these Christian authors and for what they sacrificed and poured out for the sake of the gospel, and for the Word, and for the church and for the truth. Nee’s and Lee’s writings, in such a clear and living way, open up the Bible as a book, not just of teachings and doctrines; but one of Life, the Divine Life—God breathed. And unlike many other expositions of the Bible, they make no attempt to bring it down to any level or cater to anyone, and yet their writings are so practical, approachable and applicable. And when reading, I really get the sense that God is using these brothers to further my vision, to bring me on further and for me to know the Lord and His desire in a most practical and intimate way.
