Decisions…Decisions

As I was raised in a Christian home, I was taught many of the Christian morals, standards and virtues that would best suit a believer in Christ. I was taught to respect my elders, be an upright person, give to the less fortunate, read the Bible, pray often (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and many other lessons. There is a time, however in every person’s life when they must choose for themselves, discover what they are choosing, and why. About 13 years ago I began to search for my choice of Christian groups; yet, I realized that I was not capable of making such an important decision based upon my little insight in the living word (Hebrews 4:12). As a result, I asked God for help to choose His best will. I asked Him to lead me to the Christian group that He wanted me to be with. I believe that He has answered that prayer. Through much investigation of many good, noble, and honorable Christian groups I found my heart most filled with joy when I contacted some believers in the local church.

My personal feeling however was not enough to convince me that this was the group that God had chosen for me to meet with. I knew that my heart was incurably wicked (Jeremiah 17:9) and I could be deceived if I relied on my feelings alone. With this thought, through the encouragement of many believers, I began to read the writings of Witness Lee and also Watchman Nee. I found their writings to be most helpful in my study of the Bible. I found that Witness Lee’s Life Study of the Bible was the most helpful tool that I have used to study the Bible. I have never seen a more clear and accurate exposition of the Bible from any scholar. Witness Lee’s Life Study of the Bible is excellent!

The ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have helped to open the eyes of my heart to revelation in the Bible and have aided in the unveiling of my heart to God. I am thankful that the Lord brought me to the local church.
